Delicious food and friendly service. Super clean boutique hotel. Bring your tennis shoes and supportive sandals. Many steps to climb. 76 from beach to our 3 floor unit- closest to the beach- good exercise- but I always use caution. As I write this -one of the hotel cats is purring on my lap. Beautiful birds, iguanas and flowers to see. Best of all is the warm, secluded and clean beach. I would rather be here than Hawaii for pure relaxation- which was what I needed. Did jog into the small town- but other than that- only had rest and relaxation here. Recommend flying into Huatulco airport and getting snacks at a grocery store there. We had such delicious meals here with excellent service. So grateful to have found this gem. Hope to return annually.❤️☮️🌊🐈‍⬛🌸🇲🇽

Take me back to Paradise! We returned to a cold, grey, wet UK a week ago after a wonderful week of winter sun at Casa Mauna. My husband and our two children all loved our week at Casa Mauna, Salchi. Our suite on the second floor enjoyed fabulous views over the bay. The accommodation was modern and clean. The hammock on our terrace was a highlight as was the big comfortable bed. We all enjoyed swimming in the lovely infinity pool. For me, as a vegan, eating at Casa Mauna’s restaurant every day was paradise and I relished the chance to sample so many different options, both Mexican and international. The food was all fresh and delicious. A lot of effort has clearly gone into creating a peaceful and beautiful ambience, in tune with nature. The New Years’ Eve meal served on our terrace was particularly special. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and in particular, the owner Ewen consistently went out of his way to ensure that we were having the best possible stay. He organised a fantastic private boat trip for us, on which an experienced local guide showed us jumping manta rays and turtles and we were able to see beautiful fish while snorkelling in a bay accessible only by water. The local area is lovely - unspoilt and not crowded. We enjoyed observing the wildlife - butterflies, lizards and iguanas - and taking walks on beautiful beaches that we had almost to ourselves. A very special and memorable week! Oh, and the cocktails were amazing too.😉

Para relajarse en la costa de Oaxaca La ubicación de Casa Mauna es perfecta si te quieres desconectar y disfrutar de la costa de Oaxaca. Las vistas desde el hotel son hermosas, la alberca está excelente para relajarse y la comida es muy buena. Ofrecen sombrillas y toallas para llevar a la playa para poder pasar el rato allá. Los cuartos están equipados con todo lo necesario para cocinar, el baño es grande y la cama muy cómoda.

Beautiful place and people Juan and his Hotel staff are just the type of people you want to be around. They are welcoming, genuine and delicate. The Hotel has just what you need for a perfect 5-day stay. Rooms are funcional and decorated with style. The Beach is literally a few minutes walking and is breathtaking. The Restaurant is fully plant-based with an increíble taste and variety. Fully recommend for those able to appreciate the tranquility and unspoiledness of this beautiful piece of our Mexican coast.

WARNING! Do not stay here unless… WARNING! Do NOT stay here unless you have extra time in your schedule. You won’t want to leave. The rooms are beautifully appointed and clean. The views are great from the pool and every room. The beds are comfortable. Wi-Fi is strong, water is hot, water pressure is strong, AC is cold. But most of all the staff were friendly, eager to serve and polite. The full service on-site bar makes amazing smoothies and cocktails. The restaurant is vegan. But don’t let that scare you! I’m not vegan myself, but when it’s prepared as thoughtfully as it is at Casa Mauna, I don’t mind. Breakfast, lunch and dinners are just spectacular in this oasis in the jungle. The road there is a bit washed out and I paved for several kilometers. But don’t let that deter you. Ewen, his wife and caring staff have made this boutique, full service hotel a very special spot to visit in an unexpected location. You won’t want to leave.

A Gem! Casa Mauna is a Special Place! We visited Casa Mauna twice during a recent stay on the Oaxaca coast. This place is truly amazing. It's designed with such attention to detail...modern yet embracing the gorgeous surroundings. The staff is attentive, the food is delicious, and the owner clearly cares deeply about ensuring a phenomenal experience for guests. This is a place to go if you love authentic experiences and people. One of the most beautiful hotel spaces I've been to. Thanks for a great visit!

Luna de Miel nos encantó mucho casa mauna el mejor lugar para irte de luna de miel o placer muy tranquilo solo escuchas el sonido de las olas y los pájaros las habitaciones muy bonitas el servicio excelente nosotros no somos veganos y apezar de eso la comida muy rica y las bebidas muy refrescantes, el lugar está lejos de la ciudad q si quieres algo tranquilo y desconectarte está es tu mejor opción 100%recomendado jaffet el chico de la barra excelente servicio igual el de todos que nos atendieron q no recuerdo sus nombres pero execelent trabajo y servicio esperemamos regresar pronto gracias a todo el staff por sus atenciones.

Ewen and Victoria take care of everything and the customer svc is outstanding, helping with tests for travel and taxis to town. Food is amazing, not a vegan, yet the samosas and burger and everything was great !!! Plus they stock the best Artesenal "Coyote" Mezcal with dark Noche Buena beer beach life doesnt get any more simple, slow and stress free !! we will be back in March . . mucho gracias Ewen

Great place! Casa Mauna is a great place to stay in Salchi! The hotel is very clean, the pool has a great view and it is located a very short walk from the beach. The restaurant / bar are good, the staff great. I enjoyed my stay and every meal! As a non-vegan I didn’t miss anything and recommend it to everybody, as it will open your opinion on vegan food.
